Preston Mela

Went to see the shows at Preston Mela. It was looking good, although there was a threat of rain there were a good number of folk there at 1.30. thr PrestonFM tent was up at the top of the hill overlooking the whole event. There were roving reporters and a recording booth to alow folk to say what they think.
Avenham Park is a fantastic venue for music events. It is a large bowl shaped green, looking at the river from the top of the bowl at the Winkley Square entrance you do get a good view of things and the sound carries very well to the top, even throught the shrubbery. To the right are the oriental gardens and in the dizzy hights East Cliff with the old Preston Hotel builing with its looming Victorian Watch Tower. Towards the river, still on the right is the new Pavilion. A building worthy of an award me thiks. Open most days with a community space and a cafe.
We had to leave after a short while, I will post some images as soon as I upload from my camera.

Sadly the images were not really very good. Sorry
